I've started in earnest now!
Here are the readings, as listed in Duerr's book:
Epistle: Ephesians 6.10–17: ‘Lay hold of the armour of God so that when the evil day comes you may hold the field’.
Gospel: John 4.46–54: The healing of a nobleman’s son after his father shows faith in Jesus.
I'm listening to John Eliot Gardiner's recording of BWV 109, Ich glaube, lieber Herr, hilf meinem Unglauben.
How interesting how the soloists and chorus wind around each other in the first chorus!
I'm finding the idea of this project really interesting. I love holidays - I love feeling the passage of time with rituals. I wonder how it will feel to have ties to old rituals for each Sunday in the year. I have a feeling it will suit very well.

Julie and Julia - or Sarah and Sebastian
I'm not sure whether this is worth a new blog or not, but for now I'm just going to post here. God willing, I'm going to try to make it through the whole list of Bach cantatas over the next year. Week by week, I'm going to listen to the cantatas for that liturgical day in the year. 2-5 cantatas a week - that's not so difficult, right?
I'll be going on this journey with the company of Alfred Durr - The Cantatas of J. S. Bach
Here we go! This week's the 20th Sunday after Trinity (thanks bach-cantatas.com!)
I'm listening to BWV 180, Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele. How interesting!

Early signs of spring!
New Biscuit recipe
Goodness gracious! There must be a time for everything, but this past few weeks it's been time for rehearsals and rehearsals and homework and laundry. Not blogs. But it's mighty good to be back!
We went to the dentist's today, which means that we stayed over with my Mom. I adore our dentist back home and won't switch to one in Boston for the world! So we got breakfast at Mom's house -and a new biscuit recipe. It's worth checking out.
Biscuits
Preheat oven to 450 F.
Mix these together:
2 cups flour
4tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
Now cut these into the dry ingredients
2TB butter
2TB shortening
Mix this into everything - just a bit. No need to overdo.
1C buttermilk
Cut and put in a pan, bake at 450 til golden.
Enjoy!
